I am BACK!

I am honestly sorry ladies that I just left without a word.

There have been so much going on in my life that blogging especially beauty blogging was the last thing on my mind during the past couple of months.

And with that being said I'll quickly fill you in with the details. :)

From November on I really felt like I was stuck with my life and getting nowhere. I really needed change both emotionally and physically but I was hesitant to do anything bold until January.

By the time I got to the last two weeks of January I was so done with everything that I packed my suitcase and moved to the capital city (Budapest) where my mother's uncle (I call him uncle) leaves and moved in with him and his wife.

I was intensively looking for a job and been to quite a few interviews, had some job applications very close to an actual offer when I had to leave my uncle's place, around mid February, so I moved in with my best friend.

I just moved in with my friend when I managed to land a very nice, 3 months fixed term position at Sony Pictures Entertainment as a Financial Assistant/Intern . By that time I was pretty desperate to find a place of my own which was was not easy because small, 1 bedroom apartments are taken and rented as fast as someone buys a candy in a store. Moreover I got a virus infection which prevented me from going to work and to look for my own "hole in the wall" as they say.

Miraculously, in the last minute, I found this cute but shabby place in the city centre. At least I could cross out the job and the apartment issue from my to do list for a while.

Since then I have been working 9 to 6 every day and was so exhausted almost every night that I just fainted to bed. If I was not asleep or at work, all I tried to do was to run the household and learn to cook well enough to feed myself properly.

I was technically in survival mode. Hahaha...

Honestly it took me this long to get used to work and running a household of my own. Right now my energy levels are higher and can focus on blogging amongst other things and enjoying life.

And with that being said I do not wish to bore you to death with a lot of simple everyday make up looks but I am also planning on posting about cooking and some home deco.

Right now I am trying to make this apartment look less shabby and more liveable and to do that I need a lot of very creative, DIY and budget solutions I plan to share.

So stay tuned!

Look of the Day: neutral eyes with bold lips

In the first time in forever I am back with a look of the day post! YAY!
I created this look when I visited my grandparents yesterday.
This is the overall look:

Soft everyday eyes with bold lips

You can see that the eyes are very soft while the lips are pretty bold. I haven't wore makeup for a while and I was really craving for a pop of brightness :)

Soft neutral eyes

I used MUA's Glamour Days palette to create this look. You can read an in depth review about the palette here:

MUA Glamour Days palette
Shadows used are marked with X

I used the light pinkish skin colour on my brow bone and my entire eyelid with a flat eyeshadow brush. Then I applied the tan colour  into my inner and outer crease with a crease brush from Essence.
Then using another crease brush from Essence I applied the lightest creamy shade as an inner tear-duct highlight.
I didn't blend it out much because when I create a soft look, I like if the crease colour gives shape and definition to my eyes.

MUA lipstick shade 3

Onto my lips I applied my favourite pink lipstick, shade 3 from MUA.
Since my upper lip is a lot thinner than my lower lip I have issues with applying lipsticks directly from the bullet. First of all when I apply lipsticks from the bullet I get a very uneven line and a very thick layer of product that I really don't like...Second lip brushes are very small and takes forever to apply with them or their shape is wrong...
So I came up with the idea to use a small concealer brush for lipstick application. And it works wonders; the shape and size of the brush is perfect, easy to coat lips evenly and I get only a thin layer of product. This allows me to build lipsticks up to the intensity I prefer.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Let's look back on 2013! :)

Hello Everyone!

First of all Happy New Year to you all!

I know everybody says this but 2013 flew by so fast! I can't believe it's already over! Before the year ends or in the beginning of the new year, I really like to take a look at all the things I have accomlished year. I think it's a good time to look back, evaluate and set new goals for the new year.

When I talk about setting goals I do not mean new year's resolutions...I find that those never really work out. But setting your goals properly can really change your live.

So let's move on what happened to me since I've started this blog. :)

I started blogging in the middle of August and I was under the impression that nobody would ever read the stuff I am writing. I was so happy to see the page views growing and then a nice comment here and there.
Honestly, I was jumping up and down when I saw my first subscriber.
In total I ended up having 20 subscriber through blogger and there are 15 people following this blog through Bloglovin and my profile is also followed by 21 people! Yay! :)
I might sound kinda cheesy but you guys do not even know how much this means to me :)

My biggest beauty project was the MUA Reviewathon and I plan on doing more reviews as I go along and accumulate new makeup items. I also did quite a few look of the days and nail polish reviews which I really enjoy doing.

But I did many things other than beauty since August and here they are:

I also completed my university studies. I had to do a pretty difficult exam from Operational Research. Failed the subject twice so I was really anxious to pass it and thanks Godness I passed. Then I had to defend my thesis the middle of December and I got the best grades for it (5 for the defence, 5 for the closing examination). YAY! I am happy and sad at the same time because I'll miss the people I got to know but it's just such a happy thing to start a new chapter in the book of my life. :)

I have also written a short 41 paged ebook about English language exam topics. I always thought it would be cool to write a book and since I've been teaching English for pocket money for 4 years and helped many students pass their language exams. So I compiled all of the topics into one ebook in a generalized way.
I hope it will help many more people worldwide to pass their exams successfully.

Plans for the future

Now, that LIFE is really knocking on my door hard I either have to find employment or start an enterprise or both in order to support my living.

Since I couldn't find employment in my region so far, although I've been looking since May, means that I need to move to the capital city which means more possibilities and better odds.
I am not much of an employee type of person therefore I am also considering co-founding a small business with my partner. At first I plan this to be a part time activity which hopefully becomes full time until December 2014.

These are the projects I am working on very hard. I often get up early start working from 8 am until 8 pm. This is the reason why I keep disappearing from this blog. Simply put, I need to focus on money generating activities instead of beauty and makeup.
And because I work from home right now I do not really wear makup let alone try out new stuff. But I might be able to show you some of my skincare.

Do you have plans for the New Year? Do you set goals regularly or just have new year's resolutions?

Marry Christmas! + Makeup

Hello Everybody!

Merry Christmas to all of you!

I'd like to thank every one of you for reading, loving and supporting my blog.

This was a wonderful first year from me and I definitely continue blogging, just maybe less frequently as there will be some huge changes in my life. (I am writing a new year's eve look back post where I update you about everything that has happened on my blog and in my personal life since I opened this blog.)

Onto the Xmas makeup! YAY! :D

This is the overall look with my glasses on:

Without glasses:

Close up on the eye makeup:

I used MUA's eyeshadow primer to prime my lids, then applied shade 1 from the Going for gold palette onto my brow bone and into my tear duct.
Then I used a mossy green colour on my entire eyelid. In my crease I applied a deep, dark green that looks almost black then blended it out.
When I was finished with the blending I took shade 7 from the Going for gold palette and patted it onto the centre part of my lid to give an extra gold shine.
That's why my eyelid looks gold when I took the picture with flash. In real life it's mossy green ;)

I filmed a get ready with me video too. If technology is willing to work with me, then I'll upload it. So cross your fingers for the video! :)

I hope you like this short post and I also hope you are having a wonderful Christmas eve today!

Take care!

Job Interview Manicure

A job interview is a special occasion in everybody's life. Beside your knowledge and the answers you give, your clothing, makeup and manicure is also very important. Your look can either help or break the process. That's why it is so important to choose the right look for the position.
If your prospective employers can imagine working with you based on your answers and your look then you might have a slight advantage over your competition. Let's admit that the physical representation of yourself is very important. This is your personal marketing after all.
Last week I was interviewing for an office position at the capital city. As I was applying for a conservative position at a company which atmosphere and workers are young, I decided to go with the nude tend on my nails. I chose Dusty Rose from Jordana as it is a fashionable nude yet conservative and office appropriate at the same time.

Jordana Dusty Rose nail polish

As you can see it on the picture the polish is a brownish pink that is brown enough to be neural and pink enough to be youthful. This polish has a shiny finish without containing any shimmer. Consistency-wise the product is fluid yet creamy at the same time.
The application is smooth and non streaky. In the picture I applied the polish in two thin layers without using any top or bottom coat. I absolutely love Jordana polishes as they are very long lasting. In this picture my manicure is actually 7 days old!!!! You can see some wearing off at the tips but no chipping.

I Highly recommend this polish as it makes a very nice every day school or office appropriate polish.

Hello Ladies!

As you have noticed I disappeared for a while. First of all I have a lot of things going on in my life.
I have passed my last exam at uni and since then I was continuously applying for different jobs.
So I've written a ton of applications and been to a few job interviews as well. Yesterday for example I travelled to the capital city for an interview. Since I got home I am feeling nauseous and have diarrhoea  to the point I can barely function...

Beside the job search and blogging I have other projects going on in the background as well. Unfortunately I cannot talk about them just yet. So I haven't give up blogging just been busy and quite sick. :)

I try to get back to writing as soon as I possibly can :)
Until then I send a HUGE HUG to all of you!

Mani of the week: Hidden Treasure

Hello Ladies!

This week I used a really nice nailpolish I discovered in a local cheapy store that could be an alternative to Dollar Tree in the USA or Pound Land in the UK. Honestly I do like to go to these types of stores and check out their offerings in the beauty department time to time as I've found several hidden treasures there. One of these treasures in this nail polish:

Ingrid - 386
The polish is from Ingrid Cosmetics and called EstetiC number 386. I've never heard of this brand before but  according to the label it was made in Poland. The product is absolutely amazing, the colour is very unique; purplish, brownish, grey depending on the light conditions. On the picture above it seems more grey with slight purple undertones (for me at least...), while the on the picture below it looks more of a brown.

Ingrid - 386

The colour is definitely an Autumn-Winter favourite of mine. Unfortunately this product hasn't gotten mush love from me and I don't really know why as I love both the colour and the quality. As for the quality this polish is opaque in one layer but I still prefer using two coats. Without a base or topcoat the polish stays on from 4 to 6 days! Incredible from a dirt cheap product! I think in it's own category it deserves 10/10 points.
